Criminal Solicitors Birmingham
Salhan & Company Criminal Solicitors Birmingham is a leading criminal defence practice, specialising in the most serious cases.
Our strong track record in achieving successful outcomes for clients means that we are regularly instructed in cases from across the UK, and overseas.
Our reputation as criminal defence specialists has been built on our high quality advice and representation. The results we achieve for our clients means that nearly all our work comes through personal recommendations.
We have been providing criminal defence services in Birmingham and the UK for more than 20 years.
Since our firm was founded in 1993, it has steadily grown and built an enviable reputation for the high quality of our criminal defence work. When you instruct us, you will benefit from personal attention from a senior member of our team and our focus on achieving the best outcome for you.
You will also benefit from our access to a wide network of trusted legal and other professionals, including barristers, accountants and other leading experts, all ready to help you prepare the strongest possible defence.
Our criminal law expertise is reflected in our membership of the Law Society’s Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme, awarded only to solicitors that achieve a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in this type of work.
We are also on the panel of solicitors allowed to conduct very high cost cases by the Legal Aid Agency’s complex crime unit.
Members of our team are also accredited to provide criminal advocacy services in the higher courts – Crown Court, High Court, the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in England and Wales – by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), by achieving and maintaining tough competency standards. Our team also includes a specialist in human rights.
We are a legal aid practice. If, however, you are not eligible for legal aid, we are able to conduct your case on a privately funded basis. All our clients receive the best possible advice and advocacy but private funding can offer more control and choice – for example, in the engagement of barristers or expert witnesses – and help your case progress more efficiently.
We always aim to be flexible in payment arrangements and can assist clients acquitted at trial or successful in an appeal to recover legal costs, payable at legal aid rates, through a Defendants’ Costs Order.
Where to find us
We are based in the recently refurbished McLaren Building, a city centre landmark that is only a few minutes’ walk from Birmingham’s New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill railway stations for easy access from across the UK. We are also within a minute’s walk of the main courts.
